Do you have a very expensive electric bill? Have you ever planned to cut this cost by reducing your air-condition usage, but you just cannot do so because of the burning temperature inside your house? Are you torn apart from which to choose and prioritize between electricity bill and house cooling? If you are, don’t be confused. The metal roofing system has gotten it all for you: minimizing your use of air-condition by reducing the high temperature in your house!

With a metal roof, you can enjoy the coolness that you want while being complacent about paying your energy debts. You may not realize it yet, but this type of roof might be the house construction material that you’ve been waiting for so long.

A metal roof is a system of roofing that is made from metal tiles. Unlike other materials, metals are more durable, lightweight, portable and energy-saving. Asphalt shingles may last for 20 years with religious maintenance, while metal roofs can even last for more than a hundred years without needing demanding repairs. Most roofs of this type are painted with colors and coatings that will ensure a cool temperature in your house.

How do metal roofing colors and coatings cool your house? It’s easy. Physics tells us that a shiny surface bounces back light coming from a source. Metal roofs redirect the light from the sun, thus keeping your house interior free from heavy rays. Asphalt roofs do not bounce back light; they even absorb the heat coming from the sun. Reflective metal roofs, on the other hand, reflect solar radiation. But painted and coated metal roofs do not merely reflect the light, they also re-emit the radiation that is absorbed and probably stored in your attic. A highly painted and granular-coated metal roof can re-emit 90 percent of the absorbed solar radiation. Moreover, roofs with highly-reflective coatings like Kynar can save you up to 30 percent on air-conditioning usage! Look at how efficient you could get!

On the other hand, installing a metal roof is costly, that is why this roofing system is more popular among commercial buildings than in residential construction. But if you scrutinize the situation and look on the long run, you’ll see that metal roofs are more cost-efficient since they do not require maintenance. The fact that they can last for a century actually says it all! It also lessens your energy cost and can even protect your family from heat-related sicknesses which other roofing systems might cause. So don’t hesitate anymore. Heighten your house’s heat efficiency by installing a cool metal roof system now.

Pools require a lot of maintenance. Proper cleaning is required to keep your pool in the best shape possible. Many people will not get a pool for just that reason of the hassle associated with the responsibility of taking care of it. Hence, it is also important to remember that pool cleaning is made easier because of astounding marketing advancements by increasing your quality of life and letting you enjoy the luxury of splashing unto a pool all day while taking away the tedious task of cleaning it. Listed below are some points you must consider on before deciding on which way you want your pool to be cleaned, its all just between do it yourself pool cleaning versus paying for pool cleaning services.

Assess how much time you are willing to devote in pool cleaning.
Cleaning swimming pool requests hours from your day. It is a procedure that is greatly dependent on the time an individual wants to put into it. Maintaining and cleaning a pool can be a daunting task. You need to go through a lot of steps, from purchasing the right tools for cleaning to scrubbing tile floors. This can be a problem for someone who is away often or on a busy schedule. If you happen to have the luxury of time, you may opt to do it yourself. If not, you may hire professionals to do it for you. If you can’t afford to employ the services of a cleaning company, you will need to do it yourself. Still, a diligent pool cleaning scheme is necessary to keep your swimming pool at its best shape.

Reflect on how much money are you willing to spend.
While many people own large and luxurious swimming pools, the ever changing scientific ways of keeping waters clean and free of bacteria get many people confused. Generally, you have two options in cleaning your swimming pool: you may choose to clean your pool by hiring a maintenance service crew paid daily or you may opt to buy handy and cheap pool cleaners that are handled manually and clean the pool yourself. While pool services can help, they can also be a very expensive, ongoing cost.

Evaluate your skills concerning pool maintenance.
If you are not capable enough, it is advisable to seek professional help for the repair of your equipment and pool areas that pose danger to yourself. Bear in mind that pool pumps, water heaters and underwater lightings work with electricity. They might carry high live voltages that are indeed hazardous and fatal. Pool heaters emit amounts of carbon monoxide which can be fatal. Repair of gas heaters can also be dangerously explosive. If you happen to want to do things by yourself, you can also search more information on pool maintenance as taking care of a swimming pool requires a working knowledge of chemicals and tools of the trade. You may make use of the self-guided courses available in the internet or gain information form the chemical manufacturers themselves.

If you own a cat, at a certain point in your life you’ve probably grown tired of repetitiously opening the door every time your pet wants to go inside or outside. Cats need to “feel” the world outside for various reasons. They are born hunters in the wild. Being confined is not their nature. They have to be mobile and they need to experience independence in the “outside realm” sometimes. If you do not allow cats to go out, it will have negative effects on them.

When cats are repressed of their independence, they will feel terribly abnormal. The glow of light you once saw in them will soon die, being replaced by gloom and frailty. Your kitty can even refuse to eat. Expect that she will develop and acquire different diseases. She might also become irritable and aggressive. Seeing her like this would definitely have an effect on you. Sickness is not the only thing that is contagious; most of the time, sadness is, as well.

What you can do about this is to install a cat flap on your door. This device will allow you to continue with your work or go on with your relaxation while still providing your cat the freedom that she needs. On the other hand, ordinary models of cat doors are rather also problematic. These models permit the entrance of unwanted animals. Moreover, they can even be the entry point of a robber in your house.

Good thing there is a petsafe cat flap. This cat door ensures the safety of your pet and your house by only allowing your cat to pass through the flap― your cat and your cat alone. No one will ever penetrate your house unless the cat door receives the signal from the magnet or infrared attached to the collar of your pet or from the microchip placed on her body.

Petsafe cat flaps respect cats’ independence and their owners’ busyness and convenience. These pet-friendly tools avoid the irritating cries of your pet and the scratches that she usually leaves on the door whenever she demands to go outside. These devices also help in warding off intruders and strangers. Aside from erasing their point of entrance, they also enable your cat to scare trespassers off since she can easily go out of your house.

Now, with petsafe cat flaps, you can be sure of the health of your beloved cat and the safety of your home.

Inevitably, cats need to scratch. They do it for several important reasons. Yet while scratching behavior is natural and significant for a cat, as a cat owner you’ve probably grown tired and weary of seeing your sofa, your carpet and your furniture all a mess after kitty finishes her itchy habit. Do not worry anymore. There is a solution: the cat scratching post.

Cat scratching posts are a very relevant pet tool that teaches cats how and where to scratch their claws without causing destruction to your favorite home furniture. You can buy different models on the Internet. Some of the best models cost from 100 to 400 USD. Definitely, cat scratching posts are a little costly. Indeed these tools can give kitty her independence and provide you the comfort you need, but availing these posts could mean spending a lot.

But don’t lose your hearts. There is still an option for you. You can make a cat scratching post on your own without spending much. And not only that, by creating your post you can incorporate in the product what you think is most appropriate for your pet.

Constructing a cat scratching post is not difficult. Even an inexperienced household member can build one. All you need are a wooden post, a sisal rope, plywood, and nails (six 1 inch nails).

First, nail a tip of the sisal rope to one end of the post. Wrap the rope very tightly. Make sure that there is no space between every row. Pound it with your hammer to make sure that the rope is firmly knotted around the wooden post. Once you reach the end of the post, nail the rope and cut the excess.

The next thing you should do is to place the base. Find the center of the base. You can do it by drawing a diagonal line from one corner of the plywood down to the other end. Draw this again on the other side, creating an X. Attach the base directly on top of the point of intersection of the two diagonal lines. Pound the post on the base using the four nails that are left. Be sure that the nails are hammered tightly around the post so that it will still stay firm on its place. And at last, your post is complete!

Make sure that the vertical length of the post is more than the height of your cat when she stands up. This is to allow space when she stretches up and starts to scratch.

Even with the numerous other options available, wood-burning fireplaces have always been the most sought-after fireplace. After all, if you wouldn’t concern yourself on CO2 issues too much and consider the fire as a really pretty sight then these tradition fireplaces would remain a favorite home feature to many households.

We all know of the different activities which can be done around indoor fireplaces — horror stories, romantic dates, indoor camping and a lot more. But there is one activity which is in some way related to the fireplace BUT does not include burning. Your entire family can enjoy this activity too (although, I personally think it’s a father-son thing).

Well, I’m referring to a do-it-yourself wood-cutting activity! It’s really a fun activity to begin with, especially before winter comes, you can actually just set out to cut a tree in your backyard or go to an orchard. But before you set-out for this activity, here are some important things to need.

Tools

You really can’t just cut-down an entire tree with your bare hands; you need some tools. The most often tool used to cut firewood is the chainsaw. You can easily purchase a chainsaw in most hardware stores. But before purchasing one, consider the following things:

(1) Operating Power – chainsaws can either be electric or gas operated on a 2-cycle gas engine. For small-scale cutting, you may opt for an electric chainsaw (but an electric cord limits you from too much movement). If you are really serious with your cutting, a gas chainsaw is often the better choice on grounds of portability and power.

(2) The size of the saw actually matters. It is measured in terms of the length of its cutting bar. Sizes varies from 12″ lightweight pruning saws to 50″ professional-grade logging saw. Usually, for your cutting needs, a 16″ bar length is sufficient.

Other than the chainsaw, other tools needed are those used for splitting the usable wood pieces such as:

a. Iron Wedge – There are two types of wedges, one is iron and the other is plastic. Iron wedges are used to further divide the cut logs into smaller pieces. It is driven by a sledge hammer for impact. The plastic one is used as an insertion to partially-cut log so that the log-cut is prevented from closing which pinches the chainsaw and stops it from cutting.

b. Sledge Hammer – Used to drive and pound the iron wedge.

c. Automatic Wood-splitter – It is a hydraulic cylinder which automatically splits the wood. These are expensive to buy and maintain. But you can rent one if you really want to try them on large quantity of wood to split.

d. Splitting maul – Actually is similar to an iron wedge but is fastened to a handle so it looks more like an axe. It’s dual purpose, since the flat end of the maul can be used as a sledge hammer as well, while the sharp edge as a wedge.

Also don’t forget to observe proper chainsaw-cutting safety measures. You can see instructions in your chainsaw manual.

Location

You are lucky if there are fallen trees in your backyard since you wouldn’t have to cut down a living tree. Or you can search for fallen trees near your place. You can also cut down trees in your backyard or in areas near your place, just don’t forget to discuss with the landowner, better secure the necessary documents stipulating that they will not sue you for cutting their tree.

It is best that you don’t do the cutting down yourself unless you are an experience timber-jack.

Do you want to transform your room into something different – mixing blends of elegance and simplicity? Do you want to make your room seem outlandish without being exaggerated? And most of all, do you want to pull this off without burning a lot of cash? If you do, here are some chic tips for you.

The outstanding color in your room plays an important role. If your inspiration is the grandeur of the European lifestyle, perhaps you might want to consider painting your walls with a combination of red and gold (or at least make sure that these colors stand out). You can also add scent candles and some European paintings on the walls. A heavy curtain is also suitable. And most importantly, you can hang a small chandelier on the ceiling as the center of the opulent aura of your room. As it might seem, achieving a European-motivated interior design can be really expensive. That is because you have to furnish your house with a lot of elegant stuff.

So the other option for you is to have a simple inside decoration― a minimalistic design, which is very sophisticated and contemporary, being used in most modern luxury hotels. For this design, white is the best dominating color choice. On the other hand, pure white is quite boring and uninteresting. But if white is mixed with a little touch of other basic colors like red, green and blue, it will produce a stylish aura which is still neat but not overstated. If you want a green minimalistic design, you can add a few plants in your house. Just make sure that the green colors do not ‘flood’ the eyesight. If you want a blue inspired style, you can add a lot of glass furniture. The crystal flicker will give off a sense of splendor in a white room. When you want a black or red minimalistic design, you can play with the color of your house fixtures and accessories, such as your couch, paintings, curtains and carpet.

Your house accessories should also blend with the style. Remove furniture that is already inappropriate for your motif. Your stuff should also not make the room cramped. But if your room is rather small, you can, at least, make it appear expansive. One way to do this is through the use of string curtains. These curtains are perfect for small spaces. They can separate areas, and can brighten dark rooms. String curtains are very stylish and modern indeed. And if your window has a nice view outside, this type of curtain can even be the cherry on top of your whole minimalistic design.

Your house is infested with rats before the New Year 2010. What should I do? Well, in case you are pretty serious about something like this than you should call the exterminators and ask for Christmas discount for their services and ask them to do everything possible to get rid of those rodents as fast as possible before they destroyed your house and are eager to move on to any other constructions or buildings on your property. Being careful is still crucial, but when it comes to the winter holidays, just let them pass…

I’ve witnessed many people getting in trouble because they thought killing and eradicating rats during this period of time is no big deal. Well, they did get in big trouble, and those methods that you might be thinking about when doing rat control have to be either humane or not be done or applied at all. Exterminating rats is important, but don’t let it ruin your holidays. Just be patient or maybe even take your wife and kids and move to a friend’s house for the New Year and you’ll be fine. Try to remove all the supplies and food sources and the magic might…

… Yes, the magic might happen and those rats can leave your house even without you knowing that. It happened several times in my life and I think that as long you have the correct knowledge, a right attitude and you are willing to do everything that it is required you are going to be fine. Not only is this and seems pretty complicated, but you are also very frustrated about the ability to develop your inner power of making the rats go away during Christmas. This might seem a little bit complicated for beginners, but it works and you should know it!

With the help of those tools one has the chance to completely solve the problem, the rat or any other rodent problem in his house without even lifting a finger. I already hear most of you saying “but isn’t this how normal snap traps work, you fix and install them and you do what you have to do, if they manage to get close and try to get the food they’ll get caught and killed, isn’t that right?” Yes it is people, but you also have to be aware of the fact that those traps are starting to become much less efficient in terms of rat control effectiveness and that is a huge problem.

When trying to exterminate rats you need some results quite fast, you cannot wait for something new to appear. Study everything that is offered on the pest control market and take your decision.

You need to solve it as fast as possible; you need to use electronic control for rats in your arsenal of equipment if you want fast and neat results. Absolutely no blood spilled is their guarantee and I can assure you that this is what is going to happen. Trust those who managed to learn from the professionals.

No matter how hard you try to use the old school humane methods of rat control you are still going to have a lot of headache with that and everyone knows that. It might be pretty easy however to make rats disappear with traps to catch rats. Snap, as they call it, can help you kill rats easily or basically any other existing rodents. Anyways, if you are having troubles with rats make sure that you get those special traps for rats and not mice; because rats will simply destroy those and it won’t harm them more than a mosquito sucks our blood. So do you understand what I am trying to say here? The new age of rat elimination and control is going to appear soon and we have to be ready for those rat traps that, believe it or not, proved to be one of the most effective ever. How come that most of you guys don’t believe what I’m trying to say here about traps. Just follow this. If you are looking to get rid of rats using humane methods don’t try traps to catch rats because these are very cruel and will kill any rat or rodent being almost instantly. This is why they call them snap traps.

This is the last sound that that rat is going to hear and you know that it hurts a lot! Nevertheless, your rat infestation is just a matter of time if you take action the moment you spotted the first ones – don’t delay because this might be your most crucial mistake you will ever make. Just head to your local hardware store, get those traps and you are going to manage the rats in your house once and for all.
